St. James PSR Photos

A “Family Mass” for students and families concluded the religious instruction term at the St James Parish School of Relgion on Wednesday, evening, May 11th. Perfect Attendance Awards for the instruction year 2010-2011 were presented to 28 students at the St. James Parish School of Relgion. This is a high increase giving the incidence of various illnesses which can plague a student body of some 100 students. One student, Colby Boyer who completed his Confirmation class on April 4th was cited with special honor, for having had perfect attendance from Kindergarten class thru Conformation Class in 2011. He followed the example of his older brother Tim Battereal, who several years ago also had perfect attendance K-Confirmation.

As the Mass concluded the students and their families exited the church to the parish yard where a picnic supper of burgers & hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans, chips and drinks awaited the them. It was a warm Spring evening, and the parents visited with the students enjoyed games and visiting with their classmates.

At the end of the "Family Mass", Mrs. Kathy Thompson, PSR principal and Fr. Joe Welschmeyer presented Mrs. Rene Logsden with a green plant and flowers. Mrs. Logsden was honored and recognized for her 6 years as a "catechist" since 2005. She has volunteered in helping with various levels of the parish school of relgion classrooms.
